Associate Veterinarian (Part-Time)
Dr. Jeanne Chucle was born and raised in Houston, Texas, a first-generation American to Peruvian parents. She started her college career in the University of Houston’s Honors program, receiving a B.A. in Biology before transferring to Texas A&M and completing her B.S. in Biomedical Science in 1989, graduating with honors. She then graduated from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Returning home to Houston, she began work as an associate veterinarian in the West University area, purchasing the practice in 1997. Practicing in the West University area for 30 years, Dr. Chucle’s favorite part of being a veterinarian has been getting to know her clients and their families, including the non-human members whether they have fur, scales or feathers.
Trying to stay current with all the latest advances, Dr. Chucle has enjoyed attending professional conferences and bringing back all that she has learned. She enjoys teaching and mentoring younger veterinarians, and even mentored Dr. Maria before she entered veterinary school! After 30 years, Dr. Chucle is looking forward to semi-retirement while serving at Campeche Cove All Animal Hospital a few days each month and enjoying all that the island has to offer with her husband.Â
She and her husband have two grown daughters. The number of dogs and cats Dr. Chucle has in her home varies from day to day, but most recently her furry kids include two tabby cats, two Peruvian hairless dogs, and a fox terrier/chihuahua mix. In her free time, she spends enjoys volunteering in her community and church. She loves leading Girl Scout troops and events, coordinating the ESL (English as a Second Language) program at her church, and volunteering at the Houston Zoo.
